100% chance of snow this weekend, worst driving conditions Saturday night
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- 100% change of snow and/or wintry mix is in the books for this weekend.
Forecasted totals are being raised slightly for the mountains in Bedford, Amherst, and Nelson Counties.
Totals are still expected to be in the six inches range for Lynchburg and Roanoke, but the totals for the Southside could change due to increase threat for sleet.
The worst driving conditions begin Saturday night.
Roads will also be terrible all day Sunday with the worst conditions likely early when the heaviest precipitation is falling, but conditions will still be bad all day.
Snow continues Sunday afternoon and night, but will gradually end Monday morning.
The worst driving conditions in the area could be across the Southside, including Danville, Martinsville, and South Boston due to snow, sleet, and freezing rain.
Heaviest precipitation will fall between Saturday 6 p.m. and Sunday lunchtime.
