One person safe after swift water rescue in Bedford County

BEDFORD Co., Va. (WSET) -- One person is safe after a swift water rescue in Bedford County Thursday.

According to the Stewartsville-Chamblissburg Volunteer Fire Department, they were called to a motor vehicle accident at 10:09 p.m.

They said when they arrived, they found that one person was stuck in their vehicle surrounded by water in the 2100-block of Turner Branch Road.

The driver was rescued quickly.

Stewartsville-Chamblissburg Volunteer Fire Department & Hardy Volunteer Fire Dept. and Special Operations Command of Bedford County responded to the scene.

Officials are advising people to drive with caution in Bedford County due to washed out roads.
