Winter Skin Relief

Keeping your skin covered is very important when it comes to hydrating winter skin (Photo: SBGTV)

Between those freezing temps outside and the high thermostat and handwashing you’re doing inside -- it's very hard to avoid dry winter skin.

When it comes to dry, cracked hands here is one thing that can help; use warm instead of hot water on your hands. That hot water takes away oil. Also, covering your hands outside can help.

Whatever you do -- moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.

Don't forget to do it from the inside out too. You need to keep your issues hydrated as well as your skin and that starts from the inside out.

You may not realize it, but you are as dehydrated right now as you are when it's hot.

One more thing to keep in mind -- don't wait until you're thirsty to drink water. So drink fluids all day long.

Eating foods with good natural oils can help too -- things like seafood, nuts, seeds and avocado.
