Franklin County deputy wins 'Shining Star' award for efforts in shoplifting case

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — We have a lot of heroes - living here in the heart of Virginia and ABC 13 is highlighting them!

This is Deputy Rumley with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.

He just won the department's Shining Star award.

Deputy Rumley won for investigating a shoplifting case and being able to track down the suspect.

Then, he helped return the items that were stolen from a local store.
