UPDATE: Fire at Bedford Furniture Plant

Bedford, VA - Firefighters suspect a fire at a Bedford furniture plant was caused by an ember from a smoke stack.

It only took about 15 minutes to get the roof fire at Sam Moore Furniture under control Monday night.

There were workers inside when the fire started. They all got out safely. The plant is up and running.

The roof will need to be replaced and there is water damage from the sprinklers. The damage is estimated at $50,000.


Bedford, VA - Investigators are looking into what caused a fire at a Bedford furniture warehouse Monday night.

Four fire crews were called to the Sam Moore Furniture Warehouse.

The Bedford Fire Battalion chief said there were workers inside the warehouse when the fire started but everyone got out safety.

Investigators said the early damage estimate is at $50,000.
