Blue Ridge, VA - An evening disc jockey for WXLK-FM (K-92) in Roanoke was one of the three people injured in a serious wagon accident at Layman Family Farms Friday night.
According to K-92 Program Director Kevin Scott, Roy Brown was injured, but was communicating via text messages Saturday.
Scott wouldn't elaborate on Brown's condition, only to say that he felt good that he was able to text. Scott said Brown was still "in and out" at times and was starting to remember some of the accident, but could not elaborate any further.
Carilion Spokesperson Eric Earnhart confirmed to ABC 13 that Brown was admitted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, but has since been released.
Scott said that Brown will be off the air while he recovers from his injuries, but will return to the airwaves once he is healed.
Brown worked the night shift at K-92, Monday through Friday from 6 p.m. to midnight, Scott said.
Scott says K-92 will accept cards for Roy Brown at the radio station's studios.
