According to the Danville Fire Department they were dispatched to a home on 1205 North Main Street just before 3:15 a.m.
When crews first arrived they reported heavy fire showing from the back of the house.
The home was vacant and there were no injuries. Firefighters spent more than three hours at the scene.
The house sustained heavy damage from fire to about 50 percent of the structure. The Fire Marshal's office determined the fire to be incendiary in nature and will be investigating it further.
