Elevator Installed for Wounded Veterans to Train
Bedford Co., VA - We have an update on a construction project that could help wounded veterans train for new careers protecting children from online predators.
The elevator installation is nearly complete at the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force office in Bedford County.
The elevator should be ready for inspection sometime this week.
It will allow disabled veterans in the HERO Child Rescue Corps to access all of the ICAC office, including the 2nd floor forensic lab.
Local businesses donated services and materials. The investigators did the work under a general contractor's supervision.
Sheriff Mike Brown hopes to host a training class later this year and that Bedford County will become a permanent training location for the program.
