Danville, VA - The Digital Dome at the Danville Science Center is now in place.
The center will use the 44 foot dome to screen movies, seating 100 people.
It took crews about two weeks to construct the frame and some panels. Then around 8 a.m. Thursday, crews lifted the dome and put it on the foundation.
"This is a pivotal sign for the progress of our project. Once this is in place, all the work that we need to do on the inside can now take place," said Jeff Liverman, director of the Danville Science Center.
The entire move only took about 5 minutes.
They expect to have the dome complete and ready for guests by the fall.
