Danville, VA - Congressman Robert Hurt was at the Southside Thursday to host an event at Averett University before taking a tour of Jarett Welding Company in Danville.
The 5th District representative called the company an asset to Danville's economy. He talked with employees about how lawmakers are hoping to create jobs in Virginia and tackle other challenges in the year ahead.
"One of the things we talked about today is healthcare. That's a big issue and how the healthcare law is going to affect these small businesses. It's going to be difficult," said Hurt.
The last stop on Hurt's tour was to present a flag to Future Farmers of America participants at Chatham Middle School
