'Forever in Our Hearts:' UVA marks 3 months since tragic shooting

Monday marks three months since the tragic shooting on the University of Virginia campus.

On November 13, 2022, the shooting at Culbreth Garage claimed the lives of UVA Football teammates Devin Chandler, Lavel Davis Jr., and D'Sean Perry. Two others, Michael Hollins Jr. and Marlee Morgan, were injured in the shooting.

To mark the somber anniversary, UVA shared a message on its Facebook page, saying "Today marks three months since our tragic loss of Devin Chandler, D’Sean Perry and Lavel Davis Jr. They are and will forever be in our hearts."

The university also shared the news of a new project aimed at remembering the impact the victims' lives had on the community.

UVA's Beta Bridge quickly became a memorial following the shooting, donned in orange and blue paint with hundreds of memorial messages written on the rock.

The photo book, "Forever in Our Hearts," has been given to the victims' families and teammates.

"So they will have a lasting, tangible keepsake of the outpouring of love and lament for the three young men," the university wrote.

At last check, a preliminary hearing for the shooting suspect, Christopher Jones Jr. has been scheduled for March 30 at 9 a.m.
