Priscilla Kaiser joins ABC 13 from our sister-station WJLA in Arlington, Virginia where she worked as an Associate Producer for "Good Morning Washington." Prior to that, she served as an award-winning journalist in the U.S. Air Force for nearly six years. The experience took her to Italy, Iraq, Japan, and North Dakota where she covered stories about service members for American Forces Network (AFN). One story she covered that stands out in her mind includes U.S. infantry troops delivering toys and other necessities to Iraqi orphans in one of the hardest-hit areas of Baghdad.
The Boston-born transplant grew up as an Army brat and even attended high school in Germany. She is happy and motivated to plant roots in Lynchburg and to be part of the WSET team. Priscilla looks forward to bringing you hard-hitting, human-interest pieces from the field and believes 'everyone has a story.'
Her first on-air experience includes producing and fronting a newscast she single-handedly created her senior year at Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC called "COMMotion News." Following graduation, she worked as an Associate Producer at WXII 12 News in Winston-Salem where she produced the 12 o'clock newscast and stories in the field. From there, she joined the military in 2006. She credits her time in the Air Force with polishing her broadcasting skills, and most importantly, giving her valuable life experience.
In her spare time, Priscilla enjoys spending time with her high-energy pup named "Dutch," going to yoga classes, and talking about nutrition!
