Born an outdoor girl, Kari Beal is thrilled to be in an area that is so rich in scenery and history. She officially joined the ABC 13 team as the weekend anchor and weekday reporter in May 2017.
Prior to ABC 13, Kari worked at CBS 6 in Albany, NY, a sister station. There she was the live morning reporter and fill-in anchor.
She often covered breaking news and gave up-to-date information as the news was happening. Whether it be a story affecting the morning commute, power outages, or a fire that broke out, Kari was there, on scene, giving viewers the information that they wanted to know.
Kari isn’t a stranger to the south. She launched her television career in good ole' Cajun Country where she worked in Lafayette, LA as a reporter for KATC.
Her story on sugar cane safety won her an Associated Press award for best video. She also covered the Lafayette movie theater shootings that made national headlines. But through the hardship Kari found a story about two sisters who helped save others during the shootings.
In her free time, you can likely find Kari outside somewhere. She loves to rock climb, hike, run, or explore all mother nature has to offer.
Feel free to email her story ideas and connect on social media!
