Along with our friendly competition, the Red Cross is in constant need of blood.
While the organization does not typically serve hospitals in the Orlando area, the Red Cross provided 30 units of type O negative blood to support Florida hospitals. The Red Cross stands ready to provide additional blood and blood products as needed.
But, they want to stress that blood needs to already be on the shelves of the hospitals for emergencies like what happened in Orlando and donors definitely stepped up to help.
There is a huge need for blood during the summer to be prepared for any emergency.
We encourage you to get out and give blood at Thomas Road Baptist Church Tuesday.
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - The American Red Cross says they are in an urgent need for blood.
Now the Red Cross and WSET are teaming up to see how many people we can get to help with the blood shortage.
WSET is sponsoring a blood drive along with the American Red Cross on June 14th from 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Thomas Road Baptist Church.
When you go to the Blood Drive make sure you vote for who brought you out! And make sure you let them know too!
