Potomac ends Lynchburg's 5-game win streak, beating Hillcats 8-2

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - Potomac scored four runs in the third and never trailed from there, beating the Hillcats 8-2 Thursday night and snapping Lynchburg's win streak at five games.

Potomac starter Jefry Rodriguez pitched six innings, allowing just two runs and striking out eight.

Claudio Bautista had three of the Hillcats' seven hits and drove in a run, but Lynchburg could never get closer than three runs after Potomac's big third inning.

The Hillcats drop to 7-and-7 on the season.

Game Two of the four-game series is Friday night, 6:30, at Calvin Falwell Field.

Salem's game at Frederick Thursday night was rained out.
