Hillcats snap 6-game losing skid, beat Myrtle Beach 7-3
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - Lynchburg snapped a season-high 6-game losing skid Friday night, beating Myrtle Beach 7-3 in the opener of a 3-game weekend series.
The Hillcats improved to 13-and-14 on the season with the victory.
Myrtle Beach actually led this game 3-0 until Lynchburg broke through in the bottom of the sixth inning.
The Hillcats sent 10 men to the plate and racked up six runs. The 6-run inning matches the most runs in an inning this season for Lynchburg. Mitch Longo went 3-for-3 at the plate for the Hillcats and extended his hitting streak to a league-best 17 games.
Luke Wakamatsu added two hits for the Hillcats, Jose Medina drove in two runs.
Myrtle Beach was led at the plate by Connor Myers and Wladimir Galindo with two hits apiece, the Pelicans fall to 11-and-17 on the season.
