Hillcats open Potomac series with a 9-3 win
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - The Hillcats got more good pitching and a four-hit night from Gavin Collins in a lopsided 9-3 win over Potomac Tuesday night.
Lefthander Sean Brady pitched six shutout innings for the Hillcats, allowing just two hits and striking out six. Brady also had some solid defense behind him, Andrew Calica with the sliding catch in foul territory.
Leading 2-0 in the fourth, the Hillcats take advantage of a wild pitch to run the lead to three.
Then in the fifth, Lynchburg's Willi Castro leads off the inning with a solo shot to right. The Hillcats added three in the seventh, two in the 8th.
Third baseman Gavin Collins went 4-for-5 with a 2-run homer, five RBIs.
Hillcats take the series opener 9-3, they'll play again Wednesday and Thursday night at Lynchburg City Stadium.
