Former Hillcat Greg Allen wins Gold Glove

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - Outfielder Greg Allen, who started this season in Lynchburg before being promoted to Double A Akron, has won a minor league baseball Gold Glove.

Allen is honored as the top defensive center fielder in all of minor league baseball. The 23-year-old was fun to watch, he made just two errors in 332 chances the entire year with the Hillcats and Akron.

Allen was a sixth-round draft pick in 2014 out of San Diego State.

Charcer Burks of Carolina League champion Myrtle Beach also won a Gold Glove as top left fielder in minor league baseball.
