Virginia Tech eager to play first NCAA Tourney game in 10 years
BLACKSBURG, Va. (WSET) - The Hokies fly out to Buffalo Monday night to begin preparations for their NCAA Tournament game against Wisconsin.
Virginia Tech is the 9 seed, Wisconsin the 8 in the East Regional in Buffalo. It's the Hokies first NCAA Tournament game in 10 years.
Buzz Williams, VIRGINIA TECH HEAD COACH (HOKIES 22-10), said "To be able to be a part of anything that's first I think is always special and so it's really neat. Probably should be able to articulate it better than that but you know those are kids who have dreamed their whole life of having this opportunity."
Zach LeDay, VIRGINIA TECH SENIOR FORWARD, said "I feel like we can score with anybody, but it's getting stops consistently. And that's just our goal is getting stop consistently and that's where we'll focus on. That's the number one thing we're always focused on."
Seth Allen, VIRGINIA TECH SENIOR GUARD, said "When they called our name I was happy but I didn't want to celebrate until we win a game or keep going. So I just wanted us to stay even-keeled, even-minded and not just get too happy."
