UVa's Andrew Brown recalls last year's breakout game at UConn
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WSET) - Virginia gets another shot at Connecticut, this time in Charlottesville Saturday at noon.
Last year at Connecticut, Virginia raced to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter only for the Huskies to storm back and win in the final quarter, kicking a field goal with just over a minute-and-a-half left to win 13-10.
It was a painful loss, but one good thing to come out of the game, defensive end Andrew Brown had a breakout day. The one-time Gatorade National Player of the Year had six tackles, three-and-a-half for loss, a sack and a fumble recovery.
Andrew Brown, VIRGINIA SENIOR DEFENSIVE END, said "I've come a long way, I've definitely come a long way in the run game. Coach Mendenhall and Coach Vic, their biggest emphasis for me coming into camp, was stopping the run. You know they know I had the athleticism to come off the edge and pass rush, but now it's time to show the world that I can stop the run as well."
