Lynchburg Softball beats Randolph 16-5 in game one of a doubleheader
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - Lynchburg broke open a 4-4 tie with six runs in the fourth, then added six more in the seventh to beat crosstown rival Randolph 16-5 in game one of a softball doubleheader at Randolph.
Taylor Mabry led Lynchburg with five RBIs, Kayla Hugate added four.
Freshman Jordyne Vance out of Brookville had a big 4-for-5 day at the plate for Lynchburg, the Hornets banged out 21 hits as a team.
Tiffany Allen led Randolph at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and scoring a run.
Randolph bounced back to take game two 4-1, Gracyn Allen-Ingle threw a 3-hitter.
With the split, Lynchburg is now 16-and-8 on the season, 2-and-4 in the ODAC. Randolph is now 8-and-12, 1-and-2 in the ODAC.
