LU women win Big South quarterfinal over CSU 80-53
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - Junior KK Barbour scored a game-high 18 points, adding nine rebounds, three assists and three steals as Liberty rolled over Charleston Southern 80-53 in the Big South Women's Tournament quarterfinals Friday afternoon in Lynchburg.
Keyen Green and Ola Makurat added 12 points apiece and the Flames outrebounded CSU 43-16 for the game.
The Buccaneers actually led by three after the first quarter before Liberty charged back to take a 10-point lead at the half.
The Flames increased the margin to 18, 57-39, after three quarters en route to their sixth straight win and 13th straight at home since last season's tournament loss to CSU.
Liberty will face 4 seed High Point in Saturday's first semifinal at 2 p.m., the Panthers edged Presbyterian 62-60 in Friday's second semifinal.
The Flames advance to the Big South Championship semifinal round for the 21st time in the last 22 years.
