LC men fall at home in their "Coaches versus cancer game" against Va. Wesleyan

LYNCHBURG, Va (WSET). – The Lynchburg College men's basketball team suffered a double-digit defeat of 78-63, on their home court against Virginia Wesleyan Saturday afternoon in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference matchup.

Four Hornets finished with double digit points as senior forward Logan Seacrist (Fredricksburg, Va.) led the game in scoring with 17 points and added three rebounds. Austin Wrighten (Woodbridge,Va.) contributed a double-double in the losing effort, finishing with 11 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Wrighten also went 5-5 behind the free throw line.

Freshman guard, Tyree Golston and junior guard, Keijon Honore each led the the Marlins in scoring with 17 points. Senior center, Corey White, added 14 points and 7 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Virginia Wesleyan jumped out to a fast start, as they claimed an 18-5 lead with 13:16 left to go in the first half.

The Hornets climbed back into the game by going on a 14-4 run, midway through the opening half. Junior guard, Austin Wrighten scored 6 points during the run.

In a span of three and a half minutes during the second half, senior forward Logan Seacrist, scored 10 points to help cut the Marlins lead to just eight.

LOOKING AHEAD

The Hornets will hit the road to take on the Wildcats of Randolph on Wednesday, January 31st. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
