Benkert feels UVa's chemistry on offense is improving
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WSET) - Sophomore Juan Thornhill of Altavista is listed as probable on Thursday's UVa injury report for Saturday's game at Duke. He's listed as the starter at field cornerback despite missing most of last Saturday's game with an unspecified injury.
Quarterback Kurt Benkert enters his fifth game as Cavs starter after passing for a school-record 421 yards in the Central Michigan win. And while he's thrown five interceptions, he's fourth in the ACC in passing yards and feels the chemistry on offense is improving.
Kurt Benkert, UVA-RECORD 421 YDS. PASSING LAST WEEK, said "I think it's been a world of difference because when the bullets are live and everything's happening really fast in the game, it changes just a little bit here with timing and stuff so it's been nice to have these four games to really figure everything out."
Bronco Mendenhall, VIRGINIA CAVALIERS HEAD COACH, said "We're getting just simply more clear about which players and what roles and at what time will help our team the most."
