Rustburg recognizes seven athletes who make college commitments
RUSTBURG, Va. (WSET) - Thursday at Rustburg, seven athletes were recognized as they plan to continue playing their sport at the college level.
On the football side, Davon Jones heads to Ferrum, Tucker Moore to Hampden-Sydney, Isiah Dixon to Ferrum and Dante Jones to West Virginia State.
Lindsie Arthur will play softball for Lynchburg College, Josh Matts cheerleading at Liberty and Angel Monroe, cheerleading for UVa.
Davon Jones, WILL PLAY FOOTBALL FOR FERRUM, said "I love the atmosphere and I love the campus and it's a great place to learn and further my education and play football. And I'm playing for a great guy in Rob Grandy."
Lindsie Arthur, WILL PLAY SOFTBALL FOR LYNCHBURG COLLEGE, said "It's a huge day. All my family came, my travel ball coach came, my high school coach came, so it's a huge day."
Dant'e Jones, WILL PLAY FOOTBALL FOR WEST VIRGINIA ST. , said "They believe I can do a lot of great things and they told me they can use me at a lot of different positions and they like my versatility. So I'm hoping to be an impact on the team."
