Liberty edges Brookville 4-3 in Seminole District Softball

CAMPBELL CO., Va. (WSET) - Liberty broke open a scoreless game in the fifth with four runs, then held on to edge Brookville 4-3 in Seminole District softball Tuesday night at Brookville.

Riley Taylor, Rebecca Hensley and Kacey Whorley all had RBI hits for Liberty in the four-run 5th.

Through the first four innings, Liberty's Millie Thompson and Brookville's Madi Harris were both throwing shutouts.

Brookville made a late run, pulling within one with the go-ahead runs on base the final inning. But Thompson worked out of the jam to give Liberty the win.

With the victory, the Lady Minutemen take over sole possession of first place in the Seminole District with just one game remaining in the regular season.
