EC Glass's Massie tied for lead in VSGA Junior Match Play Championship

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WSET) - One day after heavy rains drenched the Harrisonburg area, the sun shined on junior golfers looking to make their mark at the VSGA Junior Match Play Championship at Spotswood Country Club.

E.C. Glass's Jimmie Massie tied for the lead, carding a 6-under 66 on the day. Massie performance including a first round low of 30 through the front nine, capped off by an eagle on the 9th hole.

Massie and Glen Allen's Cameron Moore are tied for the lead, both holding a two shot lead over a pack of 3 golfers. Roanoke's Derrick Chocklett entered the club house with a 1-under par 71. Lynchburg's Garnet Manley III finished 3-over par (75).

The 67 golfers remaining in the tournament await their fate, as only the top 16 golfers remaining after Wednesday's round will advance to the match-play portion of the event, which begins Thursday.
