Brookville runner excited for national competition Friday
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - Brookville Bees senior runner Madeline Tilley will get a taste of NATIONAL competition this Friday in New York.
Tilley has earned a spot to compete in the 400 meter emerging elite race in the New Balance Indoor Track National Competition. Tilley, who's committed to Radford this Fall, is one of only six young ladies from Virginia to qualify for the race. Earlier this season, she was honored as Co-Athlete of the Year for Conference 30.
Madeline Tilley, WILL COMPETE IN INDOOR TRACK NATIONALS, said "I'm super excited. It's definitely an experience I've been working really hard for for the past four years. And it's definitely something that I've been looking forward to. I knew I could always do it and so I think that I finally accomplished it. I'm just ready to go out and do the thing that I know how to do, run fast."
