Grayson Overstreet named Football Friday "Player of the Year"

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - Staunton River junior running back Grayson Overstreet has been named the 2016 ABC-13 Football Friday "Player of the Year", as determined through fan voting and the Football Friday staff.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound junior running back and linebacker has truly done it all. In 2016, Overstreet became just the 4th player in VHSL history to score more than 300 points in a season, while setting a new VHSL single-season scoring record (350 points entering the finals). To date, Overstreet has 48 touchdowns and 31 two-point conversions, while putting up 2,804 yards for the Golden Eagles. Combined with his 78 tackles (13 for a loss), Overstreet has dominated on both sides of the ball.

Congratulations to Grayson for winning the coveted award. Watch Grayson's complete interview with Dennis Carter and Dave Walls below.
