Summary: One year after an improbable run to the 3A state title, the Bruins face a different challenge, moving up to the bigger schools of 4A this season. Coach Thad Wells’s squad is prepared, however, with a majority of starters back this season, including the speedy Cole Beck in the backfield, and depth at nearly every position. If Blacksburg can hold their own against some of the tougher opponents early on, don’t be surprised to see the Bruins in the mix against for a title in December.
