Elijah Davis named finalist for Football Friday's "Player of the Year"
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - Heritage junior running back Elijah Davis has been named a finalist for ABC-13 Football Friday's "Player of the Year" award.
The junior running back had a breakout year for the Pioneers, with 2,726 rushing yards on the season and 41 TD's scores, not to mention the 5 TD passes he threw on the year. Davis truly did it all for Heritage in the playoffs, with his finest performance perhaps coming in the second round against Northside. Sick with the flu, Davis still rushed for 258 yards and four touchdowns, threw a TD pass and ran in a 78-yard kickoff return to send the Pioneers on over Northside.
