SALEM, Va (WSET) - Last year, Richlands took Appomattox to the brink of elimination in the 2A Quarterfinals, before the Raiders came back for a win in OT.

This year, the Raiders didn't give the Blue Tornado a chance to swirl away.

QB Javon Scruggs went 5-6 passing for 143 yards, while Delonta Kelso returned a squib kick 71 yards for a touchdown that proved to be a dagger, as Appomattox claimed their 2nd straight 2A State Championship with a dominant 42-7 win.

Senior RB Phillip Fleshman added two touchdowns for Appomattox (15-0), who extended their winning streak to 30 straight games in the process.
