Martin Truex, Jr. would love a repeat of 2017 season
CHARLOTTE, NC (WSET) - Can anybody slow down the '78 Truex Train in the 2018 NASCAR season?
Truex and Furniture Row Motorsports dominated at so many tracks last year, racking up eight wins and leading the most laps all season. It was one of those dream years the reigning Cup champ would love to repeat.
Martin Truex, Jr., 2017 MONSTER ENERGY SERIES CHAMPION, said "Looking back on just the stats from this season in general, it's just crazy to think of the amount of points we racked up, stage wins and laps led. Eight wins and I feel we could have easily had 10 or 12."
Erik Jones, 2017 TEAMMATE OF TRUEX, said "Martin's points that he accumulated throughout the year really add up so much and really, even if he had not won, would have carried him into Homestead."
Ryan Newman, #31 RICHARD CHILDRESS RACING DRIVER, said "If we weren't as bad as we were, he wouldn't have looked as good as he did. But go ahead...(chuckle)."
