Joe Gibbs Racing sporting a younger lineup for 2018
CHARLOTTE, NC (WSET) - For the second straight year, Joe Gibbs Racing is replacing a successful veteran with a young talent.
Last year, Carl Edwards retired with Daniel Suarez stepping in. This year, Matt Kenseth lost his ride in the number 20 Camry to 21-year-old Erik Jones.
Kyle Busch, FIVE WINS, SECOND IN POINTS IN 2017 FOR JOE GIBBS RACING, said "There's going to be a little bit of a learning curve for Erik to go through, to be able to get to somewhat of the level that Matt's at, even though Erik's a great race car driver. You know, still there's that learning experience, there's nothing better than being a veteran-type driver."
Erik Jones, TAKES OVER FOR KENSETH IN THE #20 CAMRY, said "You know I think it's a unique mix really at JGR between myself, Daniel, and Kyle and Denny. So it's kind of a, you know, mix of veterans and two young guys which I think is neat. And I think everybody kind of has something unique that they can bring to the table."
