Frank Landrey talks about new book "From Hero to Zero"
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - One-time Liberty University golf coach Frank Landrey has written a new book about his TRUE love as a young man, college basketball.
Frank played for Georgia Tech in the early 60s. His book, From Hero to Zero, is a personal account of how his once promising career on the court ended abruptly over a miscommunication with his coach. Losing his hoops dream nearly led to Frank losing his life. And he says he didn't learn the true story of what happened until 25 years later.
Frank Landrey, "FROM HERO TO ZERO" AUTHOR, said "I thought that I was benched after being a starter for three years in my junior year and then kicked off my senior year because I broke curfew. 25 years later this story unfolds told to me by my old coach about point shaving going on at that time and that they, by circumstances, personal failure in a game I lost I could have won. And they then thought that I was shaving points."
Landrey is having a book signing this Saturday from 12 'til 2 at Givens Books in Lynchburg and also a Writer to Writer Workshop on March 18th at the Liberty Mountain Conference Center.
