Boonsboro tennis pro Drew Robinson earns state recognition
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - Boonsboro Country Club's Director of Tennis Drew Robinson has been honored by his fellow teaching pros in the state.
The one-time University of Richmond standout player has been named the U.S. Professional Tennis Association Pro of the Year for the state of Virginia.
Robinson is the dean of tennis club pros in the Lynchburg area, now in his 33rd year with Boonsboro. He's really helped grow the game of tennis, including lots of work with junior and high school players.
Drew Robinson, USPTA VIRGINIA PRO OF THE YEAR, said "It's not only a job, it's a lifestyle. I've been a player, a coach, a mentor, a teacher, a promoter. And that's the beauty of it, you can wear so many different hats and do something you love to do and continue to learn and to grow. I'm still learning and trying to become a better professional every day."
