Watch the solar eclipse at Riverfront Park in downtown Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - Looking for a place to watch the solar eclipse on Monday?

Look no further than Riverfront Park in downtown Lynchburg.

The City of Lynchburg is inviting people to come watch this once-in-a-lifetime event on Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Lynchburg area will approximately 89 percent of the eclipse.

Officials say the maximum part of the eclipse will take place at 2:41 p.m.

City officials say the first 200 people will get free official eclipse viewing glasses.

They say "celestial snack" like Sun Chips and Moon Pies will be available.

Make sure to bring your own chair or blanket.
