LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - The total eclipse on Monday is going to be one of the biggest phenomena our country has seen from coast to coast since 1918.
But, how do you drive safely during it?
Can you even drive safely during the eclipse?
VDOT says the important thing to do is to drive without distractions.
They say you should be on the lookout for other drivers who appear distracted by the eclipse.
If you want to stop and view the solar eclipse, make sure you exit the highway and view it safely.
Officials with AAA say it is important not to look directly at the sun while driving.
Because it will be dark during the eclipse, it will be important to use your headlights.
Over seven million people are traveling to get a view of the eclipse, so make sure you leave plenty of time to get to your destination.
If you use caution, you will get to your destination safely.
