TAMPA, Fl. (CNN Newsource) -- Imagine the shock of coming face-to-face with a stranger in your house.

A man was caught on home surveillance video in a woman's home Wednesday night and while there the homeowner said he propped open a window so he could come back later.

"When he was there earlier, he had positioned it so he could get in easier, so I think I heard him jumping the fence," the woman said.

She said she's terrified to show her face, but wanted to share her story to WFLA in Tampa.

The intruder was originally in her home while she was out for a bike ride.

Hours later, you see her walk to the front door after hearing a noise -- she checks it out, then returns to her room.

That's when the intruder confronted her and walked with her to her purse, demanding money, her cell phone, and her keys.

"He was a professional, I believe. He had gloves on, he had a hoodie on, he had a mask on. So, he wasn't trying to touch many things," she said.

Moments later, he made her go back to her room and she was convinced he was going to rape her.

But instead, she acted fast and ran to the window screaming for help.

She claims that moment saved her life, because it turns out someone heard her and called 911.

St. Pete Police detectives are hoping someone in the area can recognize the intruder.
