LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- Three officers were injured while standing outside of a Quiktrip gas station in Phoenix, Arizona early Tuesday morning.

Phoenix police say a driver, who was impaired, drove through a group of officers in what appeared to be an intentional act, before hitting a patrol car and the front of the store.

The officers, right after being run over, then had to fight the driver to the ground to make the arrest and take him into custody.

All three officers were injured, one seriously, according to police, but all were expected to be okay.

The investigation is ongoing, at this time.
