You can start canoeing and kayaking on the James River Saturday
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- It may be a little too chilly to enjoy the James River on Saturday, but the James River Association wants your next vacation to be a staycation.
The canoe and kayak rental officially opens Saturday.
This is the first time the James River Adventures will have a full summer season.
In April they will do canoeing and kayaking and add paddleboarding and tubing as an option come May.
"We can get you out in one of the region's best assets, the James River, it's a great place to recreate go have fun, walk around, bird watch, go fishing, it really appeals to all walks of life," said Rob Campbell, with the James River Association.
The rentals are available from Thursday to Monday from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
