Where you can locally watch fireworks for Independence Day


LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) - Want to see some fireworks to celebrate Independence Day?

Here's a working list of events happening:


  • Thomas Road Baptist Church - Celebrate America is Sunday July 2, starting round 9:30.
  • Lynchburg Hillcats - On July 4, there will be fireworks at the game sponsored by Kroger & Westover Dairy.
  • The Summit July 1- There will be fireworks over The Summit Lake on Saturday, July 1 at 9 p.m.


  • Smith Mountain Lake, July 2 - There are fireworks held at the Parkway Marina . The event runs from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • D-Day Memorial, July 3 - Fireworks will be set off from the Memorial at dark. Free parking is available at Liberty Lake Park, and some handicap parking will be available at the Bedford Welcome Center.


  • Roanoke - There will be fireworks on July 4 at the River's Edge Sports Complex South.


  • Danville - Fireworks will be shown July 4 starting; the event runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.


  • Brookneal, July 4 - Patrick Henry's Red Hill events start at 3 p.m. with fireworks at dusk and the gate closing at 9 p.m.
