Warrant: Police ask to search missing woman's boyfriend's Facebook account
ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) -- Search warrants are revealing new information about a missing woman from Roanoke.
Edme Merle-Perez was reported missing on March 27.
A new search warrant revealed a man named Dayshaun Kent, who neighbors said is her boyfriend, told police that he used her debit card at a convenience store signing Merle-Perez's name to the receipt.
Now police are checking his Facebook account to see if that will help them find the missing woman.
The warrant shows Kent told police his primary means of communication was through his Facebook account.
Last month, police requested a search warrant of Kent's home for further investigation.
Police said officers took items like cell phones, paperwork, debit/credit cards, a wallet, checks, a bus pass, receipts, a driver's license, and medication from the home.
Last week, Roanoke police searched Tinker Creek in relation to this case, but wouldn't say what they were looking for, or if they found anything there.
Roanoke Police have not named Kent as a suspect.
They say anyone with information about Merle-Perez should call their tip line immediately 540-344-8500.
Police say callers can remain anonymous and texts can be sent to 274637. They say anyone texting should put "RoanokePD:" at the beginning of their message.
