Warrant: Danville man lured female employee to work before hours and raped her
DANVILLE, Va. (WSET) -- A Danville man is facing rape and abduction and kidnapping charges after an incident in Danville earlier this month.
A warrant shows that the victim reported to Danville Police on Thursday, March 1 that she was held against her will and sexually assaulted by her employer, Donald Scott Layne.
The victim said she was lured to the business, the Megabounce Indoor Playground, on Riverside Drive before opening hours by Layne under the pretense of him wanting to talk to her.
The warrant shows that when she got there, Layne took her into the back office, took her phone, and then locked the door and used a weapon along with threats of violence to intimidate her and force her to to have sex with him.
An arrest warrant showed that the victim told police Layne raped her.
The victim also told police that Layne held her around her neck in a choking manner during the majority of the incident, but didn't apply enough pressure to block her airways or cause her to pass out.
The warrant shows that investigators were able to verify the victim's statements.
Layne has been charged with felony abduction by force to deprive of liberty and felony rape by force, threat, or intimidation.
He's being held without bond at the Danville City Jail.
His next court hearing is scheduled for May.
