VIDEO: Suspect rummages through vehicles in parking lot before driving away in one

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- Lynchburg Police are looking for a suspect they said stole an unlocked vehicle from a business in Lynchburg.

Police said it happened Thursday morning at Hurt & Proffitt, Inc. on Langhorne Road.

In surveillance video provided by the business, you can see the suspect walking through the parking lot around 4:30 a.m. searching through vehicles that are unlocked.

He ended up raiding two unlocked vehicles.

You can see the suspect walking up to all of the vehicles in the parking lot, checking to see if they are unlocked before rummaging through the vehicles that were unlocked.

The secretary at Hurt & Proffitt said nothing was reported stolen from the first vehicle, but he actually stole the second vehicle.

In the video, you can see the suspect rummaging through the vehicle before hopping inside.

Then after about 10 minutes, you see the lights come on and the vehicle leave the parking lot.

Hurt & Proffitt said the vehicle that was stolen is a Jeep Grand Cherokee and they are still searching for it.
