Two Va. roads to be named after fallen Army heroes

Sgt. Forrest Dane Cauthorn and Staff Sgt. Darryl Demetrial Booker were both killed in Iraq in 2007.

CHESTERFIELD Co., Va. (WSET) -- Chesterfield County is naming two roads after two fallen Army heroes that graduated from a local high school.

Staff Sgt. Darryl Demetrial Booker and Sgt. Forrest Dane Cauthorn were both killed in Iraq in 2007.

Staff Sgt. Booker, 37, died in Iraq’s Diyala province, northeast of Baghdad, on Jan. 20, 2007, when the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter he was in was shot down. They were supporting Operation Iraq Freedom at the time of they were shot down, according to the National Guard.

Sgt. Cauthorn, 22, died in Iraq on April 5, 2007, during Operation Iraq Freedom. He died in Hawijah of wounds suffered when his unit encountered enemy forces using small arms and grenades.

The two roads will be named Darryl Booker Way and Dane Cauthorn Way.

The ceremony will be held Friday, October 20, 3:30 p.m. at 12601 Bailey Bridge Road.
