The Water Dog holds watch party for NCAA Tournament
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- Need somewhere to watch Virginia Tech battle Wisconsin in the first round of the NCAA Tournament?
The Water Dog in downtown Lynchburg is the place to be.
The Water Dog said ESPN Radio is broadcasting live from the restaurant as the tournament kicks off.
The restaurant also partnered with South Street Brewery in Charlottesville to provide patrons with a slew of their best brews.
The Central Virginia Hokies will be raffling an autographed Virginia Tech men's basketball signed by Coach Buzz Williams.
The game starts at 9:40 p.m., there's no cover or reservation needed.
The restaurant says they want to feel like a home away from home.
"Whether you're hanging out in the main bar area, which is pretty open, we also have a private place, what we call the garage area," said owner, Dave Henderson. "We have a 150 inch projector screen TV, in that area which is available for private events, it's pretty open and it's a great place for people to get together and have a great time."
The Water Dog says it's offering happy hour specials until 8 p.m.
This is the first March Madness appearance for the Hokies in a decade.
