Summer reading program kicks off in Campbell Co. libraries

CAMPBELL Co., Va. (WSET) The summer reading program at the Campbell County Public Library starts Thursday.

The program runs through Saturday, July 29.

This year's theme is "Build a Better World."

The program kicks off at 11 a.m. at the Timbrook Library on Leesville Road.

The Roanoke Children's Theatre will perform "We Are in a Play" by Mo Willems.

Registration for the program is open and all activities are free and open to children and adults of all ages.

Children ages 4 to 10 years old will participate in an incentive-based reading program at all libraries, earning prizes for reaching various milestones. Weekly programs will have activities based on this year's theme.

There are reading logs available for those 11 and older.

The program's Grand Finale will be at Rustburg Library on Saturday, July 29, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a Makerspace Labrary.
