Slick, icy spots possible Tuesday morning with a sunny and breezy afternoon


LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- The snow has ended in the local area, however slick and icy spots are possible for Tuesday morning. You may want to allow for extra drive time to your commute.

The day started out with a few scattered snow showers and temperatures in the 20s and 30s. Wind chills were in the 10s and 20s.

Sunshine will return for Tuesday, but the day will be breezy.

The highs for Tuesday will reach near 44 for most neighborhoods and the New River Valley will stay in the upper 30s. The winds will definitely keep the chill in the air, so have your coats handy!

Tuesday night will be partly cloudy with lows back in the middle 20s by Wednesday morning.

Highs will be near 40 on Wednesday, then temperatures will climb back into the 50s for Thursday and Friday.

Saturday and Sunday are looking mild with highs in the lower 60s by Sunday. Rain chances start to return for the second half of the weekend.
