Santa to a Senior campaign kicks off in Central Va.
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) -- Home Instead Senior Care and the Lions club kicked off their annual "Santa to a Senior" campaign in Lynchburg Wednesday.
This year, 820 seniors are in the program and 16 Christmas trees are set up across the local area.
Each tree contains each senior's wish list.
"Most of the stuff that the stuff that they request are things that maybe a normal person might take for granted, like bath towels or hygiene products, or a robe... it's not like they're asking for extravagant things," said Krista Johnson of Home Instead Senior Care.
The trees will be up until December 1.
The trees are located at the following locations:
- Altavista Applebees
- Olive Garden on Wards Road
- La Villa Italian Restaurant
- Bedford Area Family YMCA
- Bedford Central Library
